Blister Freshwater Pearls

Blister pearls are formed when the nucleus of the pearl attaches to the shell. It's not meant to happen but the result, in this case, is very strikingly beautiful. Such deep and beautiful luster in both these pieces. One looks like it was nucleated in an abalone shell which has the rainbow coloration of blue & greens; while the other has a more traditional color pallet of soft creamy peach with pink overtones. They are both gorgeous.

I purchased these at the Tucson Gem & Mineral show at least 5 years ago. They could certainly be a part of a beautiful piece of jewelry. The backs are also quite nice with a good color pallet.  Sold as a pair.
